Where are all the animals? Tigers were all sleeping, Lions, zebra and elephants nowhere to be seen. Many of the enclosures empty. Missed the seal and bird shows. Its like a maze. Should have better directional signs. Very average experience. Overpriced for the money. Great views of the harbour was the only positive.

Wow what a day we had in Taronga zoo. This is the best zoo we ever been. The location is so beautiful with city views all around perfect for instagram. The animals all looked very happy and well looked after. A very clean zoo with plenty of cute animals to see. Food options are plenty and zoo staff quite helpful and pleasant. Keep up the good work guys.

We were there in the lashing rain in a post covid restricted world. Understandably a lot of animals were sheltering out of the rain but many areas were under renovation too. The ferry makes it so easy & a bus even met the ferry to bring us uphill. It’s great you can get back to the ferry on foot from the penguins place so you don’t need to retrace your soggy steps. Pros: Less crowds Giraffe family Junior gorillas Capybaras Cons: $35 for an umbrella!!

We booked on line for our tickets which was quit easy to do and were looking forward to this visit . We had been before , a couple of times in the past . It is Not a great Zoo like Singapore Zoo or even Werribee Zoo or even Bangkok , as they seem to hide the animals away from people , and have a big focus on animal encounters where they charge exorbitant amounts of money for them . The Zoo is not easy to get around as it it is built on the side of a steep hill although it has great views of Sydney Harbor . Covid Protocols were observed everywhere . On this visit we were disappointed by the large number of enclosures that were empty or under renovation so were boarded up . They seemed to be everywhere .The Lion enclosure only had 1 Lion , who was asleep and you could barely see his Ear . Even the Gorilla enclosure was empty as was the Penguins . The prices charged in the Gift shop and the fact that you could only Pay using a Card was also annoying . And the prices for food & Drinks are an absolute Rip off , they are competing with Sydney Airport - $9-50 for a 500ml Bottle of Water and over $6 for a Pie and $4-50 for a can of soft drink , We will never be back . If you want to see a Great little Zoo , visit Mogo on the South Coast .

Viewing areas getting smaller, more enclosed and harder to view animals. Pretty disappointed in this visit. Some of the main enclosures closed. Barely any animals to see. Previous visit 5 years ago was the same. Won’t be back again, not the same experience it used to be. The animals are well looked after but no point going when you can’t see them and when you can it’s everyone crammed into a glass viewing area.

I havent been to Taronga in years and now live regionally so was looking forward very much to my visit. However, I was extremely disappointed. Yes it is in a great setting with fabulous views of the harbour and city, but that is not what I came for. Firstly, $19 for parking is just taking advantage when there are no other options. The zoo itself looks very unkept and sadly lacking in maintenance, with lots of construction and enclosures closed I think to be still charging full price on admission is very unfair. There is a lot of walking between anything to see so I felt like I paid $60 to take a 10 K walk. Very disappointed.

Disappointed. Used to be a place I could recommend to visitors to Sydney. Now rather poor and shabby. Lots of construction or renovation disruptions. Zoo had 18 months without visitors but appears not to have used it to be ready. The smart phone app was not useful. Huge contrast to say the superb Singapore zoo. On plus side. Lots of volunteers to help and prams for small children. Sky train very good. Parking good. Did not have time for bird show this time but remember it as very good.

Amazing Experience! Took a ferry ride to the Island and then took an Air Gondola up to the front gate, it was so cool to see the zoo from above. They have an amazing array of animals. Such a cool experience!

Visited here March 2019 (sorry late in review) and also the first time we came in 2013. What an amazing place this, so much to do and see and the views are amazing. Very reasonably priced for the experience, would highly recommend!!
